WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL SITE!

At the Connie Lekas School, our goal is to provide an educational environment that will prepare students for success in post-secondary settings. By meeting students at their individual entry points we engage students in different modalities for learning. The shared efforts of students, parents, and staff result in lifelong learners, problem solvers, and productive citizens in the global community.

Our mission is to provide students with disabilities full access through the effective use of high and low technology tools as part of literacy and communication experiences.

Students Learn Best

  • When their social, emotional, and physical needs are met, they feel safe and supported
  • When their interest/fascinations and “need to know” motivate learning
  • When they are respected for who they are and are taught at their entry point using different modalities for learning
  • When they have a communication system that allows access to learning
  • When they have access to multiple forms of technology in alignment with universal design for instruction for learning
  • When they can participate in pair sharing to deepen learning
